When theme parks were introduced to the world, they promised so many elements that make for a glorious day. Elements like sunshine, great food, exciting games and rides, and an electric atmosphere.

Sadly though, theme parks were for some time confined outdoors and only enjoyed in summer. But thankfully, some adrenaline junkies and businesses decided that fun should not just be had in summer. It can and should be had all year round.

And thus indoor amusement parks were born.

This means you can take your children out for an exciting weekend whenever you want (and they’ll definitely give you the best dad/mom award).

But you have to take them to indoor amusement parks kids can relate to and enjoy.

Yes, not all indoor amusement parks offer kids a great time they will remember for life. Some are just plain boring and the service atrocious.

That’s why I’m here to save you from a terrible experience (and lose out on the coveted parent of the year award). Besides, no one likes spending money on an outing that does not deliver the thrills and squeals it promises. And that’s why I want to point out 7 indoor amusement parks kids absolutely enjoy.

5 Indoor Amusement Parks Your Kids Will Absolutely Love

Ready to take your kids on the adventure of a lifetime? Then let me show you exactly where you need to take them. And be rest assured, you will find these places exciting too.

  1. Nickelodeon Universe – Bloomington, Minnesota

What better place to take your kids than the world they love watching on TV? Nickelodeon Universe, Mall of America, is one of the best (if not the best) indoor amusement parks you can ever take your kids to. The park is located on 7-acres of land, and every inch of it has something to experience and enjoy.

This Nick-themed park has fewer ride restrictions than other amusement parks, making it very kid friendly.

But don’t drag your feet thinking you won’t find some rides for “big kids”. Nickelodeon Universe caters for the whole family so you will find rides that have been designed to get your stomach in a knot and your heart racing.

This is the place to go for your next family adventure.

  2. Dutch Wonderland, Lancaster, Pennsylvania

With 34 rides, 3 of them being roller coasters and a water ride, Dutch Wonderland is truly a wonderland your kids will enjoy. Set on 48-acres of land, you will find everything that makes for a memorable amusement park experience in this “Kingdom for Kids” themed paradise.

Some of the featured attractions include the famed Duke’s lagoon, a water park that is bound to keep the kids squealing in delight as they cool off and Kingdom Coaster, a wooden roller coaster, and Joust, a steel roller coaster following the “Big Dipper” style.

Apart from these amazing rides, your kids will enjoy other entertainment in the form of games and a walk through the age of dinosaurs as they traverse a path with more than 15 animatronic dinosaurs.

Dutch Wonderland is ample example that kids can have a great time indoors.

  3. Safari Land Indoor Amusement Park, Villa Park, Illinois

Featuring the largest indoor roller coaster in Illinois, Safari Land is a safari themed indoor amusement park that combines entertainment and education, making this park ideal for your curious kids.

Apart from The Tiger Terror roller coaster, Safari Land has some interesting attractions such as a 3D Hi-Def Max Flight simulator, Tilt-A-Whirl, bumper cars, and a whole lot more. For those of you who are more laid back, a 12-lane bowling alley and billiards will keep you enter.

And don’t worry about the littlest elf in your group as there is a soft play area for them to play their hearts out without hurting themselves.

For a jungle-themed adventure, Safari Land is definitely the place to take your kids and let them run wild.

 4. Parthenon at Mt. Olympus, Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin

Yes, this water park capital also has a lot of indoor amusement parks as well, affording you fun-times throughout the year.

If a trip to Greece is on your bucket list, then you (and the kids of course) will love Mt. Olympus Theme Park and Water Resort. This amusement park features replicas of many famous Greek sites and attractions like the Coliseum and our park of the day, the Parthenon.

The Parthenon features many rides that are suitable for your family members who are 48-inches or shorter, making it the perfect weekend getaway for you and your kids. They will definitely enjoy riding in large teacups, roller coasters, and go-karts that are specifically designed for them.

And if you want to spend more than a day at Mt. Olympus, there are 3 on-site hotels that will afford you and your kids a great vacation to cherish.

 5. Disney Quest Interactive Theme Park

With 5 floors of awesome entertainment that includes arcade-style video games, rides, and virtual reality adventures, Disney Quest Interactive Theme Park has been a source of great family entertainment for a number of years.

The beauty of this theme park is that most of the activities here are interactive, requiring your physical and mental participation. You will find rides such as the Jungle Cruise where you paddle a boat through a jungle river and the Pirates of the Caribbean game/ride.

Unfortunately, though, Disney Quest closed its doors on the 2nd of July 2017.

But that does not mean there’s no fun to be had in this iconic venue as Disney is replacing this interactive theme park with another – the NBA Experience.
