Sesame Place theme park is located near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. Having obtained a license from the Sesame Workshop (formerly the Children’s Television Workshop), mega-theme park developers SeaWorld Entertainment opened Sesame Place in 1980. Based on the television program Sesame Street, this is the place to go to experience the television show’s fantasy-world brought to life.
Several designers have brought Sesame Place to life, including Eric McMillan of Canada, and Sandra Hanna of New Jersey. This wonderful theme park is open from early May until Halloween, and again for a Christmas run from mid-November to December. Originally built on only 3 acres, the park has been expanded to 14 acres of space. In 2007 the theme park was made 100% smoke free, the first theme park to do so.
